Hello Thirty: A Font That Makes Your Brand Feel Warm and Professional

Last week, I was helping a local candle maker refresh her product labels. Her candles are beautiful, made with natural ingredients and lovely scents, but her packaging was holding her back. The label, typed in a default word processor font, felt generic. It didn’t convey the care and artistry that went into the product. We needed something that felt personal, elevated, and inviting—without looking overly formal or intimidating. That’s when we tested Hello Thirty, and the change was immediate.

A First Impression That Speaks for Your Brand

Typography is the first visual cue your customer gets. Before they read the price, the ingredients, or your story, they feel the mood of your text. Hello Thirty is a slim, adaptable handwritten font. Its style is what I’d call “casually elegant.” It has a light, flowing character with a touch of bounce, but it’s not overly ornate or childlike. The mood is warm, friendly, and polished—perfect for a small business that wants to look professional but also approachable.

For the candle labels, we used Hello Thirty for the product name and a short, poetic scent description. Suddenly, “Bergamot & Cedar” didn’t just list ingredients; it evoked a feeling. The font’s visual character made the label feel like a handwritten note, suggesting a personal touch from the maker. It elevated the product from a commodity to a crafted item. This is the power of a well-chosen typeface: it silently communicates your brand’s personality.

Where Hello Thirty Shines in Your Business Materials

This isn’t just a font for special occasions. Its adaptability means it can become a core part of your brand identity across dozens of customer touchpoints. We tested it in several real-world applications.

On product packaging and labels, like our candle jars, it’s excellent for the main product title or a key tagline. It draws the eye without overpowering the design. For a bakery, it would be gorgeous on a custom box or bag, naming the special “Seasonal Fruit Tart.” For a skincare brand, it could beautifully highlight the product name on a minimalist label.

In digital spaces, Hello Thirty performs wonderfully. We updated the candle maker’s Instagram story templates and shop banner. For headlines and short phrases, it adds a human, crafted feel that stands out against the often-cluttered, overly slick visuals on social media. It’s also great for website banners or as an accent in digital ads, where a touch of personality can increase engagement.

For printed collateral like thank-you cards, business cards, or simple flyers, it brings consistency. A thank-you card signed with Hello Thirty feels genuine. A business card using it for your name or title creates a memorable, personal connection right from the start.

Practical Advice for Readability and Use

Hello Thirty is a display font. This means it’s best used for headlines, logos, short phrases, titles, and decorative accents—not for long paragraphs of body text. On a small label, keep the phrases concise. On a mobile screen, ensure the text is large enough so its delicate details remain clear. In print, like on a menu or packaging, it looks crisp and lovely.

A key tip for any handwritten font: pair it with a simple, highly readable font for all your supporting information. For the candle labels, we paired Hello Thirty with a clean, modern sans serif font for the safety information, weight, and website. This combination is magic. The script font provides personality and focus, while the sans serif ensures all necessary details are crystal clear. You could also pair it with an elegant serif font for a more classic, editorial feel.

Building a Cohesive and Trustworthy Brand Identity

Using a single, distinctive font like Hello Thirty across your materials does more than just make things look nice. It builds visual consistency. When a customer sees your packaging, then your Instagram post, then your website banner, and they all share the same typographic voice, your brand becomes instantly recognizable. This consistency breeds trust. It signals that you are deliberate, professional, and have a clear identity.

For a small business owner, this is invaluable. You don’t need a huge marketing budget to look established. A cohesive suite of design assets, starting with a thoughtful font choice, can make your brand feel unified and reliable. Hello Thirty can serve as that signature element, especially for businesses in handmade, creative, lifestyle, or personal service niches.

A Few Important Technical Considerations

Before adopting any font for your commercial projects, it’s wise to check a few practical details. For Hello Thirty, as with most premium fonts, ensure it comes with the standard file formats you need (like OTF or TTF) for both desktop design software and potentially web use. Look for features like alternates or ligatures that can add extra flair to your logos. Crucially, verify the license. A commercial font license allows you to use it on products you sell, packaging, merchandise, and client work without legal concerns. This is essential for any business application.

Finally, remember that your font is a tool to express your brand’s story. Hello Thirty offers a specific, warm, and polished handwriting style. It won’t be the right fit for a brand wanting a rugged, techy, or ultra-minimalist vibe. But for the vast number of small businesses built on personal connection, craftsmanship, and warmth—from cafés to boutiques to coaching brands—it can be the simple upgrade that makes your entire brand feel more intentional, memorable, and ready to greet the world.
